The bustling working-class district of Il Prato overflows with boutiques and local food shops. It is a stone’s throw from the Arno River via Lungarno Amerigo Vespucci, which also leads to Florence’s tourist and commercial hub (such as Via Tornabuoni and Piazza della Repubblica) past the many historic palaces that line the river.
Santa Maria Novella central train station is nearby (15-minute walk), as is the park known as "Le Cascine," where the city's biggest market is held weekly.
The apartment itself is situated in the quietest and most sophisticated part of the area, right next to Florence's biggest theatre, The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, far from heavy traffic.
The apartment
This charming ground-floor apartment (60 m²) features traditional frescoes on the ceiling and an inner courtyard.
The kitchen (21 m² - east facing) has a glass door that leads to the courtyard. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the modern conveniences (refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine, gas stove, and oven), a table and four chairs, and a buffet. At one end of the kitchen, a staircase leads to the first bedroom.
The second bedroom (8 m²), on the mezzanine above the kitchen, consists of a double bed, an armchair, and a footstool.
The master bedroom (28 m² - east facing) looks out onto the courtyard and features a double bed, an armoire, a dresser, a TV, a bookcase, two armchairs, and a small table. Frescoes grace the bedroom ceiling.
The en-suite bathroom (5.5 m²) is fitted with a shower, sink, bidet, and toilet.
A table and chairs are set up in the courtyard (20 m²).
